Okay ~~ here is the low down on my wonderful vacation to San Antonio.

Day#1 ~ THE DRIVE
Kane and I left on Thursday at 11:00 to drive to San Antonio. The drive was good and I found Kim's house without any trouble. Kane had a little bit of a problem getting to his mom’s but he always knew where he was :O) I hugged Kim and then we went out on the town. The first night we just hung out and had a good time catching up.

Day #2 ~ THE WEDDING HUNT
Kim and I started the day by looking at THE wedding dress and picking out my bridesmaid dress. Kim's dress is beautiful :O) We then looked into food and decorations. We went by a possible reception sites. Then I got the go the Trinity University (where Kim got her Masters) this is were Kim's ceremony will be and got to look around. The church is gorgeous (with lots of stained glass) and the campus quite lovely.

Day #3 ~ HANGING OUT
Kim and I spent the whole day looking around San Antonio and having fun. Just relaxing and having a good time.

Day#4 ~ THE RODEO
Kim dropped me off at Kane's mother's house and we all went to the rodeo. Now I have never been to a rodeo before. So the best way I can describe it is like a state fair with bull riding and horse riding (actually I think they might do that at the state fair as well). I had never seen bull or bronco riding, but it looks like it hurts (allot). There was an event where kids rode sheep and where older kids had to catch cows. Then there was also a concert by Josh Turner (a country music singer). I think if I knew any of his songs it would have helped, but the light show was cool. It was interesting though I can not quite figure out the scoring for all the bull and horse riding. Not a bad day and Kane’s mother's birthday!! So we had a small party, ate cake, and opened presents.

Day#5 ~ THE HOTEL
Kane and I got up and went to the Hawthorn Suites off the River walk. There was a fountain at the entrance and after we checked in there was a manager’s reception with wine and snacks. After that Kane and I took our first stroll on the riverwalk. I am not sure what was going on that week, but Kane and I were by far the youngest people there. It was kinda strange to see so many people over the age of 50. But everyone though we were newly weds so that was funny.

Day#6 ~ THE CAVERNS
Kane and I started out the morning by riding a boat down the riverwalk and exploring even further. It was fun just relaxing and exploring.

Then we went to the Natural Bridge Caverns. It was unbelievable. I had allot of fun there and though allot about Jennifer and Dad and what they would think.
trip52.jpg
It was a mile tour with lots of walking. It is one of the few privately owned caverns still operating. It was a rough walk, but I took like 300 pictures down there, if anyone would like to see them. Overall it was a fun time.

Now the students in the 60's that first found the cave and all it's formations thought that one section looked like the environment of where the monster would live in Beowulf. Does anyone know the name of the creature?? Anyway this is the friendly version of that it is outside the caves and their mascot. It was a wonderful vacation.

looks like it was a lot of fun. I'm not sure, but was it Grendel for the monster...

haha, after posting that comment, I looked at the picture bigger, and on the front, you can see the start of Grend_____ , so I guess it was Grendel

Sorry I missed out on looking for dresses. I wish I could have been there to find the dress for Kim. I'm sure your keen eye made all of the difference. well that is if it wasn't already decided when you arrived. Happy Birthday again
