Well we have made it through another Christmas at the CRAZY Potter household.

The day started with the Great Coconut Adventure. Apparently there is a tradition back when Mom was a kid about having a coconut for Christmas. So Jen and Rene thought they would try to recreate it (actually I think it had something to do with putting fresh coconut in the fruit salad, but the other story is better). It would seem when the coconut was bought they though that they had taken the inside shell off, but they did not ~~ so we had to find a way to crack it. So Dad took out his trustily rock hammer (which of course everyone has in their home) and punched holes in the coconut. Thus after splashing Jennifer in the face Dad was able to drain the juice ~~

Here below you can see Dad punching the hole in the coconut.

Then with a normal hammer he cracked the coconut successfully. Then to get the meat out they put it in the oven to soften it up or something like that. But alas the coconut was forgotten in the following craziness ~~ thus no coconut for anyone :O(

While all this was happened other food was being made . . .

Kane was in charge for frying the turkey ~~ which tasted great and after an emergency house search for enough oil was cooked to perfection ~~

Jennifer and Rene worked on make two kind of pork loin (both of which were very tasty)

Of course we had the traditional mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, fruit salad minus the coconut, green bean casserole (made by yours truly), pumpkin cheese cake, chocolate covered marshmallows, and tres leches cake.

Next Laura, John, and the kids arrived and we all went around the tree for the traditional passing of the presents.

Grandpa Potter was doing well and having fun with the great grandkids.

After the gifts were passed out there was much tearing and picture taking and video camera recording everything. After all the mayhem finished I brought out Kane and my gift to the boys . . . .

A kitten which Laura helped the boys name Scout. CJ said "just what I always wanted" and Kyle said "what is it?" The kitten amused everyone by running around like a crazy wind-up toy ~~

But the kitten did well letting the boys hold him and playing with the toys the boys threw at him.

Scout adjusted very quickly and explored everyone and everything. Christmas was busy but a good one . . .

But at the end of the day all the Potter men found a couch and went fast asleep. What could be a better Christmas then that???

Gee, thanks for not mentioning that Rene and I made the fruit salad (actually it wasn't the traditional one, all fresh/made ingredients, different recipe), as well as making homemade marshmallows!!!
