** Aunt Jennifer objected to the phrasing of Third Generation Awana Clubber --- I guess she doesn't think Grandma memorized or passed any of the books...so I changed the title. So there! ***
Kyle passed his Bear Hug entrance test this week. He said his three verses and his motto (only after club was over and his mouth was "unstuck" of course). He said them to mom in front of his leader. He had a ball at Awana Cubbies --- ran all over, chased the dragons on the playground and made friends with the pastor's son.
Mom and Emily helped me create a "casino" for John for his birthday complete with buffet(the kitchen), sports book(the TV armoire), players club(the desk downstairs), slots (set up on the coffee table with John and Jonathan's laptop with slot machines from Microsoft Casino up and running), presidential suite (our bedroom), lounge (the couches in the living room) and gaming area (floor space in the living room). Kyle and CJ were the owners so we had a sign that said No one under the age of 21 permitted in the gaming area except for the owners. Emily was the VIP hostess that clipped a 1000 chip on John when he came in and led him around the casino. Mom was the cocktail waitress -- YOU HAVE TO SEE THE PICTURES ---. Jonathan was the pit boss and dealer and I was John's escort. :-)

So.... what did it all look like?
Here's a tour....

Had a fun filled day with the boys today --- we went to Kohl's to look for birthday presents and so forth, and the grocery store. Managed to forget most of what was on my shopping list because I left it at home so I didn't save as much time as I hoped.
We went on a walk around the neighborhood --- I was the only tired one --- of course the Prince and the Caesar rode comfortably in the wagon and kept instructing me to move faster. Mom has only one speed!
We played with trains and mom played referee --- it is more fun if you try to take the train that someone else is playing with rather than the one you have currently in your hand. Must be a boy thing.
Tried to clean house but didn't get as far as I wanted. I have so much to do and so little time. Thank heavens for John --- my knight in shining armour--- he scooped the boys off and bathed them after dinner and gave me a few moments rest.
Tomorrow's another day!
CJ helped Daddy wash Kyle's hair tonight in the bathtub...I guess turn about is fair play!
We've been a busy bunch over here .... CJ is moving from crib stage to big boy bed. We took the fourth rail off the crib and made a transition toddler bed so to speak. He'll sleep there till he is comfortable with the idea and then we will move him to the toddler bed later this year.
Kyle has his backpack and lunch box ready to go for his preschool class. He is in the Blue room which we will get to find out all about on Back to School night and meet your teachers night on August 30th. Growing up too fast!
I am in the midst of agony....got an abcessed tooth which I had pulled this afternoon. Had a lot of fun over the weekend with an adverse reaction to the pain medication. Anyway once the swelling goes down and this now toothless spot heals, we will have to see about what to do --- either a bridge which would mean destroying two healthy teeth or a implant. Hmmmm....choices choices.
