Here we are at the groundbreaking. They took pictures of the families there. We had barbeque (hamburgers and hot dogs), they had a sandpile for the kids to dig in, four bounce houses and a giant inflatable slide (five stories tall) which both boys begged to go on. It wasn't bad actually --- as Kyle says a "fast fast fast slide". CJ didn't balk at the ride either --- just lay down with mom and whoosh...down the slide we went.
The pastor also gave a message and they had the ceremonial turning of the dirt. The boys though had the most fun in the bounce house.

Both boys had a blast hunting easter eggs in the backyard.
Well, we woke up this morning at 7:00 a.m. on the dot and John ran to get donuts. The boys and I played upstairs while we waited. Then, after donuts and juice (CJ ate parts of three donuts and Kyle two), we got dressed for Sunday service. Since a lot of people turn out on Easter, the pastor asked regulars to try to come earlier. We went to the 8:00 service. There weren't many people there --- about half the sanctuary --- but on our way out people were coming in --- in droves.
We went to Grandma Mullen's to say hello and Grandma gave the boys M and M baskets for Easter! The boys made sure to taste test each kind of candy in the basket and Kyle shyley sang the Easter song.
We came back to our house to see if the Easter bunny had made a visit yet and low and behold there were two baskets sitting on the coffee table with toys, candy and movies --- including a Hermie movie from Grandma and Grandpa Potter.
After taste testing and stuffing their mouths with as much candy as they could, we went outside to search for eggs hidden by Mr. Easter Bunny (aka Daddy). Kyle ran and ran finding quite a few eggs and CJ found his share of six.
Then on a sugar high, we came back inside and watched Dora the Explorer and Hermie before fighting our way to naptime. CJ succombed but Kyle flailed and with "eyes hurting" never went down. (Early bedtime then mister!).
John and I tackled the closet of death (aka the office closet where we stuffed everything we didn't know what to do with from our various cleaning sprees). I am happy to say the closet of death is now a box of death which will soon become non existant when energy comes back.
We plan on a ham dinner and will dye eggs later tonight.
What an Easter!
Kyle singing : Happy Happy Easter. Jesus is risen. Happy Happy Easter. Jesus is risen. (he trails off and I can't hear the rest of it).
He is risen. He is risen indeed.
