Snow flurries

The boys saw the snow flurries coming down today and had to run out and run in them....since unfortunately or fortunately (depending on your opinion) the ground was too warm for accumulation.

They liked the "cold" rain. :-)

Kyle was eager to run.....

Sharing our lollipop

On the way to the car from Awana Cubbies, Kyle and CJ shared Kyle's lollipop. Kyle wouldn't let CJ hold it, but would let him have a lick whenever he asked. He even offered to mom and grandma....sweet little boy!

Serenading Daddy

During the playoff games, the boys picked up Daddy's old guitar from when he was a boy and serenaded him with wonderful songs! Future rock stars or country singers (depending) :-)

CJ's magical stylings of Twinkle Twinkle little star and ABC.

Kyle...very seriously...playing a song of his own creation.

Snowed and Iced in

Well after one day back at school (monday we were off for MLK), school was cancelled this morning because of the snow and ice on the roads. Of course, I didn't realize that the roads were bad or that anything was cancelled until I had the boys up and in the car at 6:45 and was on my slow 5 mile an hour way to Grandma Potter's. sigh..... We made it (took 15 minutes instead of 3 minutes to get there). John was on 75 at the time and it took him 30 minutes to go three blocks because of the conditions and no sanding on the highway. He said that the semi's were going backward on the hills for lack of traction....scary!

Anyway, we are holed up at home with a fire in the fireplace. The boys are playing upstairs, John is telecommuting (he gave up after the three blocks and turned around and came home), and I am catching up on housework.

Pictures forthcoming if anything interesting happens other than whiteness. :-)

Monday's Ice

All the rain and cold temperatures created icicles on our swings and gazebo in the backyard. Kyle had fun plucking icicles and sharing them with brother who thought it was too cold to go outside. :-)

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!

Little Girl Mullen had her sonogram picture taken and with no lack of modesty showed the technician and her mommy and daddy all her glory. Definitely a girl (Dad asked five times just to be sure.)

So Mom gets to decorate in pink and buy DRESSES and DOLLS! :-)

Of course, Baby Mullen will probably be like her Aunt Emily and play sports but.....you can't have everything!

December Wrap Up

Been awhile since we have posted...lots going on and no time to report on all of it.

At Thanksgiving, we enjoyed dinner at Uncle James' house in Ft. Worth after spending the day and night before at the Gaylord Texan where we saw the ICE show and all the Christmas decorations. Then we drove to Oklahoma to spend one last weekend at Oklahoma Grandma's house.

In December, we've seen Santa twice -- once at the Gaylord Texan and once at Six Flags where we played at Holiday in the Park, we helped Grandma and Grandpa move in to their McKinney house, been to see the Trains at Northpark, celebrated Christmas at our own house for the first time and then visited grandmas, of course, and enjoyed New Year's festivities.

We also completely redid the powder room downstairs --- tiled the floor, painted the walls and trim, installed a new toliet and a new sink. It looks beautiful -- model home, magazine new. :-)

To top it all off, John got Lasik eye surgery and now sees perfectly without glasses or contacts.
