Kyle was a teenage mutant turtle --- Leo to be exact.
CJ was superman (when he'd wear the costume)
Alyssa was a sugar plum fairy.
Firemen from our local station visited Kyle's school and handed out flyers on creating your own fire escape plan at home. Once you filled out the plan, if you brought it to the local fire house, they gave the kids fire hats, goodie bags and a tour of the station and the trucks. Kyle and CJ had a great time --- they especially liked climbing in and on the trucks, and now our escape plan along with the number of people in our family is on file at the fire station. That will help them if anything should happen at our house.

Kyle took his yellow belt test today and the whole family watched. He had four people in his testing group so he was really on the spot but he tried hard and did a good job. After Mom read his certficate to him, Kyle said, "They forgot the exclamation point!" In school, he learned you put one when you are excited so....it follows. :-)

First there was a written test which Mom helped Kyle do --- he had to explain respect and good habits.

Then, Kyle had to demonstrate a right/left punch, a double jab, back punch, roundhouse kick combination and a back kick.

Then, Kyle had to show how to escape a bear grab from behind. (Bend down, grab the ankles of the person behind you and pull).

He did a great job!
Then, Uncle Jonathan and Mr. Castilla had all the students line up. Kyle's name was called to stand by his belt and have it put on ceremonially by Uncle Jonathan.
