The Pergola is finished
It only took four and a half days and John finished building the pergola in the backyard. It is a little bigger than 10 x 20, has a pull down shade, swings for all three kids and covers the entire concrete patio in the backyard. You can see that our sandbox, 10 foot pool (pirate ship shape), and table and chairs all fit in the space. All that remains to do is to stain it, but we have to let the wood weather first --- so sometime this fall or early winter, we will stain it a cedar like color.

After 12 hours of soccer camp.....Kyle's improved a lot
Kyle showed a lot of energy and enthusiasm at soccer camp...even running around the gym.
His coaches said that he has improved passing, dribbling and kicking the soccer ball...especially good since this was his first experience with soccer. Kyle was even knocked down by an older player and didn't cry! That in itself is a major achievement for our little athlete.

At the close of the camp, Kyle got three candy rewards for all his improvement this week and he got a pack of soccer shaped playing cards.

Alyssa is getting comfortable walking
She walked across the span of the living room yesterday. Today, she practiced during Kyle's karate.
First Day of Soccer Camp followed by Karate
Kyle had a busy day today...not only did he play three hours of soccer at soccer camp, but then he had a 45 minute sparring class at Karate. He certainly got a workout! In between, he even played Nintendo WII...bowling.

He also had skill drills...kicking the ball into the wall and catching the rebound.
At Karate, he kicked and punched Bob.
Then, he kicked and punched Uncle Jonathan.

July 4th
On July 4th, we discovered...
Kyle likes sparklers. He kept asking to do another one, that it would be his "last" one and then he'd want another one. :-)
Meanwhile...CJ hid safely in the house...content to watch but not get too close. You never know what a rogue sparkler might do...
Alyssa was in bed when we started the sparklers...tired from being the beauty queen she is and walking all over the house and driving her little red car.
