Kyle was awarded his Bobcat Badge today at the Pack 380 Meeting. He got to go down the den leader line up and shake each leader's hand in the cub scout way as he got closer to his own leader to receive his badge.
Here he is after shaking several hands.

And a Proud Kyle with his Bobcat Badge.

Cold front came through today around noon and blew in rain and twenty degree colder temperatures. Everyone had to wear long pants and play inside.
Alyssa played today with Mickey. She cuddled with him and gave him kisses. :-)

CJ played with a "very hard puzzle" as he described it. It had several pieces and made a picture of a cow behind a red fence. He was very proud of himself when he finished.

Kyle worked on his homework --- a subtraction word problem he created about pumpkins, pumpkin pie and the Mystery gang from Scooby Doo.

We already miss you...can't wait to see you on Friday! We hope you are having fun in Tom Green County.
Kyle today went to school and showed his teacher the note saying he was absent on Friday because he had pink eye. She was kidding with him saying that she thought he was at the fair. Kyle took her seriously. :-)
CJ had a great day today. He gets to fill the mystery bag with items starting with the letter F. He said that he doesn't mind the hours of preschool but he doesn't want to go to Kindergarten because that is too long of a day. He is just going to stay four.

Alyssa is picking up or at least mimicking more words each day. She has down....bye, baby, bubbles, mommy, deedee(daddy), juice, kitty, kyie, nigh nigh (night night)and ha dog (hot dog).
Alyssa had fun this evening playing with beads. She wanted to wear ALL of them!

Kyle went to Tiger Cub Mania with John from 2 to 6. They got to fly planes, make crafts, eat hot dogs, and watch a magic show. Kyle had a blast and Dad was in charge of the pictures. Kyle even got to take part in one of the magic acts in the magic show!

The boys loved chasing the hot air balloon down....they thought it was really neat.
Alyssa meanwhile entertained herself playing in Daddy's truck. Grandma brought it over to clean out all the sand from a previous use and to fill it back up with gas since Jonathan used it to move.

She loved to pretend to drive and to climb from the front seat to the backseat.
When we got home from church, I said, "Let's all get in front of the fireplace and take pictures for Daddy." At first, only Alyssa cooperated. Here she is posing for the camera with her concentration on her yogurt smoothie. I think she likes the fact that it is a straw in a cup the most!

Kyle earned Green jewel 3 and 4 tonight to finish off the four required jewels on his silver Hiker crown! Now, we have to do the red jewels.

CJ finished his first lamb patch tonight. He made a cross and a set of "glasses" as well.

I went to my first Department Head meeting at Central office. It went well...I felt accepted right away and even comfortable enough to share my opinion many times. I came back with seven new books to read and whole lot more knowledge of statistics and item question analysis than I ever wanted to know! Welcome to the world of Math in English....oh the joys of Department Head....
I peeked in on our angels as I went to bed....Alyssa lay in her crib with her feet sticking out the end...I am not sure why but it was cute.

The boys despite several nighttime emergencies finally drifted off as well.

Good night all....sweet dreams
Kyle went to his first Den meeting tonight. We made "Do your best" bookmarks, and silly faces. Kyle had a slight mishap with the glitter glue --- the top came off and all the gold glitter went all over the table and his craft. Some got on his uniform but we will clean it and everything will be okay. Hard to convince him at first though!
We went over the Bobcat Badge requirements and he is going to work on all eight of them and get his badge this week. This was his Den homework for the week along with making a tiger flag piece for the Den flag. He learned the motto, the pledge, the law of the pack, the salute and the secret handshake.
There are six other boys in the den --- and they are all equally shy and silly so it is a great mix.
CJ is in a good mood....twirling in circles, laughing and smiling. I caught him mid-twirl. He had a good day at school --- learned about Baby Moses and made the reed basket and colored the baby to go inside. He also learned about the letter E. He gets to do a pumpkin hunt on Thursday.

Alyssa is doing well also. She played on brother's scooter, splashed in the water and helped plant mums. She ate a cupcake today and smeared frosting all over her face and hands and ended up looking like a pumpkin herself. It made her mad to have the frosting all over!

Kyle and I are headed off to his first Den Meeting for Tiger Cubs. I'll post all about it when we get back. Until then....
In honor of the Cowboy game that Daddy may or may not be seeing as well as he could here in Texas....
Alyssa donned her cheerleader outfit. Go Team Go!

With the beautiful weather, we had time to go outside today.
Here is Kyle with his scooter attempting a death defying trick --- crossing a miniature bridge!

He almost made it! (Fell at the bottom)

CJ used a broom to sweep the dirt off of rocks --- apparently dirt is not for outdoors anymore, and then spent time throwing small objects into the water and looking for frogs!

Alyssa is getting as big and independent as we'll let her. Here she is searching for the perfect toy. She insisted on doing it herself. If we hand her something...then it isn't any good.

I left Friday after 5th period to drive to Austin with Azam Anet to attend an NJHS conference at the newly built AT&T Executive Center. It was a really nice hotel/conference center and especially nice because it had only been open since August.
I presented at the conference a session called "Expanding your Spheres of Influence" which was basically my fancy title for Everything you need to be an NJHS sponsor. :-)
I am completely worn out and missed my sweeties (all four of them) a lot. I made it home today around 8:00...in time to say good night to everyone before they went off to bed. As I am typing this, I am getting ready to go rock Alyssa who is crying. She missed her mommy.
I talked to John on the webcam phone and she was in my lap. She kept waving and smiling at him and wanted him to hold her. I guess it is a little disconcerting for her. But....Daddy will be home soon...another five days.
Until then.....in our hearts and on our minds....
Kyle and CJ played hard last night....when they were supposed to be sleeping...and then got up this morning at 7:15 so...Kyle is TIRED. Here he is playing upstairs....half asleep. :-)

CJ is more awake but still playing lying down. Smiles for Daddy!

Alyssa is keeping herself busy...getting into everything!
Here she is playing with Aunt Jennifer's phone.

We are off to Awana, so we will have to talk to Daddy really late tonight. We love you!
