Hello from Sunny California

Well, we arrived by plane yesterday and spent the afternoon in our hotel. The boys swam while Alyssa napped and I arranged our room.

By the way, Alyssa is completely FEARLESS. She went swimming and jumped off the side of the pool without regard to whether someone was there to catch her. Luckily Mom and Dad were both in the vicinity and she only went under once (Don't worry grandmas...she was only under for a second before she was grabbed). But even that didn't faze her...she kept right on jumping off the side of the pool.

Today, we got up early and headed to Disneyland. It has changed a lot since the seventies when I used to go there with Dad. Lots of different attractions are now in the park and they have updated some of the major ones. The submarine voyage that used to be 20000 leagues under the sea is now Nemo. It's a small world now includes the little dolls wearing costumes from all the disney movies. They are mixed in with the original costumed dolls from each of the countries. We had fun picking out the movie dolls from the costume ones. The Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse is now Tarzan's story. You walk through and see scenes from that movie. It is actually really well done. ...even the puma and the gorillas make an appearance. Pirates of the Caribbean also has been changed to include the characters from the newest live action movies and you are following Captain Jack Sparrow. You now get to walk through Sleeping Beauty's Castle and see the scenes from her story...even the burning of the spindles and the dragon and Mallificent. Alyssa got to ride everything that we did. The only rides with height restrictions were too much for the boys as well so we didn't go on them.

Kyle's favorite: Pirates of the Caribbean
CJ's favorite: It's a small world
Alyssa's favorite: Dumbo, Casey the Train and meeting MICKEY!

Alyssa went right up to all the costumed characters. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto. She sat in Mickey's lap and cuddled with him. It was ADORABLE! We got pictures but I can't post any because we didn't find the connector cables in our packed boxes.

We hit all the lands and all the major rides. It was a very light day for visitors so there were NO waits on the rides. The most we waited was maybe twenty minutes but most things we got right on. It was a perfect day!

Check back in with you guys later
