Been a bit, but because of beguiling bruises before me, butter begeats burning bullies, and thus, I am updating with a new post.
Yes, as Erik mentioned in a past post, I have proceeded to endeavour the path of another Massively Multiplayer On-line Role Playing Game (MMORPG) commonly referred to as FFXI, but more accuratly titled, Final Fantasy XI. As many of you know, I have been, for quite some time, playing GemStone III, and enjoying it, which brings me to a new paragraph.
In reality, I have not, and do not, play that many games. The games I do set forth upon myself to take up my time are ones which I am able to play with friends. This is why I rarely play single-player games. I have always been like this, it seems. There are a few exceptions, naturally, where I have played single-player games, interestingly enough, these games all seem to stem from the time before playing games over the modem, and then the internet. My single-player games seemed to demish greatly after WarCraft (that's the first one), when my best friend and I would get up at 3/4 a.m., stuff pillows/blankets infront of the speaker inside the computer that made the connection noises (until I got inside and disconnected it, and then later figured out how to mute it software wise), and play till 5 a.m. and ride our bikes to the donut shop. The only single player games I do play are ones that I can, in a way, still play against others via competition in scores or how far you've gotten.
So, all that to explain why I pay money monthly to play two games, it's all for friends really. I'm not even sure yet if I like FFXI, I have, however, but a decent amount of time into it, and probably will continue to play it, even if I don't fully enough the interface simply so I can spend time with my friends.
Perhaps some are wondering why I'm not immeaditly in love with the game. It does have amazing graphics and such, I won't deny that, and they did an awesome job of putting it all together. It runs smoothly and all that, though Joe has done a well enough explaination of the game mechanics and graphics in numerous posts. For me, for starters, I have never really played any FF games at all except for FFVII. I enjoyed that one, it was interesting, but it didn't hold me enough to complete the game (though that was probably primarily due to the fact that I lost all my game data b/c memory card went bad after many many many hours into the game). The interface is still taking some getting used to for me, and I hear that the playstation controller and adapter is a much better way of doing things, I'm not having that much difficulty, except when I type something and it seems delayed or doesn't register sometimes. Also, what the heck is up with it saying "You don't meet the requirements to obtain
Alright, long enough post.
