It is now the day after of seeing the ballet, Giselle. I will now, briefly, quote what a friend said to me after I came back from they ballet, "people stuff on stage whilst I'm bored to sleep". While this sentence isn't the best contructed you might have seen, it seems to be the general thought pattern that is associated with males towards a lot of preforming arts, most generally towards operas and ballets. I, myself, however, was not bored at this performance, but enjoyed it. I find it interesting the abilities of the ballet performers to fly through the air, it takes such a level of strength, balance and control. If you are ever going to see a ballet, wether by "force" or choice, I strongly suggest you read the story before going. Upon doing thusly, you might be able to understand what is going on on stage even better, and might just be a bit more interested at how they convey a story through the movement of their bodies.
Anyways, what was even more interesting was my attempt to get to Andrea's house before the ballet to pick her up. It's what my speech teacher would call a "miscommunication event". I wrote down the directions that she gave me just fine, however, we did relay what the other meant by "stop light". I thought the stop light she was referring to was the one on highway 75 right after the creek turnpike, she thought I was going to go to the stoplight that was after that one that was in glenpool. We ended up meeting at a gas station, at which point we realized what the confusion was. All-in-all, an enjoyable evening.
On my way back, it seems I forgot another of the main reasons I cam back to Tulsa yesterday, my clothes. Fortunatly, I have barely just enough to scrap by till Thursday, I might have to wear a pair of socks two times though. My brain and I are just so forgetful about certain things....
Time to create a four minute speech, yeppie.
TUMEO.
101st comment baby, yeah!
It's hard for me to enjoy what's going on if I don't know the story, and its so dark and comfy in those theatres...
Posted by: HardwareGuy at February 8, 2004 01:09 PMGlad you had a good time and enjoyed getting a little more cultured. I know I wish stuff like that would come through Lubbock. Wait a minute that would mean I would have to be able to afford to go. HMMMMM... I should get cracking on that novel so I can get a little extra cash....
