Well, the karate tournament went fairly well. It was a little wierd in how it was run, not quite typical of most tournaments, but it was Mr. Scott's first time to run one. Not a huge turn-out, but still a pretty good one. The instructors from the other schools were friendly, and these are the people I ended up fighting when it finally came my time to spar.
There was only 3 of us that fought, which meant one of us would have a "by", which basically means you get to skip a fight. There was a 7th degree black belt, 3rd degree black belt, and myself, a 1st degree black belt. To be a 7th degree black belt usually requires several years of being a black belt, and most are of the age 40+.
The first match was the 7th degree versus me. It was a fun fight. You win by either having a 5 point spread or most after 2 minutes. He definatly had more experience fighting, and in the end beat me by 5 points. In these fights, it's always what the judges see, and depends on more judges seeing your strikes before the other guy's. Then the 7th degree fought the 3rd degree, and beat him as well. Normally this would mean the 7th degree gets 1st, 3rd degree gets 2nd and I get 3rd, but we decided we might as well have the 3rd degree and myself fight. In this fight I ended up getting the 5-point spread over him and won. The fight could have gone on longer, but I don't think the judges saw a reverse punch he landed on my ribs/stomach area.
So I the end, I got 2nd place. It wasn't a big fight, but I had fun. I'm definatly out of shape and need to get to running and doing push-ups and sit-ups. I don't really have any great pictures from the fighting. Someone else was using my camera, and I really should have set it up for action/sport shots, but didn't think about it until afterwards. Most of the pictures are streaks of motion. My sister might have gotten better ones though. Here's a decent picture:

Here I'm throwing a kick to, I think, his head.
I've taken 3 exams so far, with my 4th exam on Tuesday of next week in business law. I feel I did well on all of them. I ended up with a 41/50 on human resource management, 78% in government with a class average of 74%, and I do not know my grade in History yet. So far in history, i've gotten 10/10, 9/10, 10/10, 40/40 for assignments, so I think I'm doing ok in it. The 10's are homework and the 40 is in class writing assignment. I did think I did a lot better on the goverment exam, but they had a sheet where you put X in the letter you though was the answer, and it only had a, b, c and d, so I think maybe, on some of the ones I was answering d to, i might have marked C, as I'm used to 5 blanks on the scantron, so I marked my d's one for the far right choice. Didn't start to worry about it until after I turned in my test, oh well, next time I'll double check.
That's all, I think.
TUMEO.
Did anyone get a picture of that guy's head popping off when you kicked it?
