Sadness and Picture

Sadness, my moonshining has not resulted in very good tasting rootbeer it would seem. It is a little on the... bitter side, I think. It's kinda of hard to determine what it is. At first I was thinking maybe it needed more sugar, but know, I think it was something else. During the initial fermentation stage, for 3-5 days when it is suppose to be in a light area, you are suppose to keep the temperature between 70~75 degrees. This was when it was pretty cold outside, so I think my room wasn't warm enough and perhaps not enough light got to it either. This probably messed with the yeast and caused it to not ferment as it should have. I'll be trying another batch soon, but I'll have to figure out how to keep it in a more constant tempature range, probably downstairs somewhere.

Got a copy of my sister's pictures from the tournment, there were so much better ones. She also recorded a little video from the fight with her camera, and I'm very impressed with the quailty.

The video is me fighting the 7th degree black belt. I realized after watching it a lot of my weakness that I need to work on. Things I've forgotten about, like dropping my hands when I kick, which the 7th degree noticed as well. There's a break called, and that's because my glove came loose. Here's the video: karate.mov(~13MB)

Here's a good picture of me giving the third degree a backhand to the side of the head and him punching my arm:

I just got to watch the movie, can you explain how the points were divied up?

well, basically the points are given to the first person that makes contact to a 'scoring area'. In the video, only the first 3 points are shown, in which the 7th Degree, Mr. Bryan, scored on me. Scoring area is above the belt, the front of the body, the sides (ribs) and the head (in the case of non-black belts the front part of the face is not scoreable).

Like I said, I was dropping my gaurd a lot, so the first point scored was him doing a jab to the side of my head.

Time is where my glove became lose

The last point scored, I believe counted as 2 point as it was a head shot. Mr. Bryan performed a spinning hook kick that was (since tournament) controlled and lightly brushed my head while I was performing a round kick, slipping in under his leg and attempting to deliver it to his body. If you play it frame by frame using d-pad you can kind of see this. His foot struck first, so he got the point, plus the judges might not have been in position to see my kick.
