Well, yesterday was quite a fiasco. The day started out fairly well, I woke up a little early, got a good shave in and a nice shower. I had time to cook myself some eggs, though I didn't like the bread, had too many grains... I got to work, grabbed the deposits and dropped them off at the bank.
1) The bank informed me that one of the deposits from the other night (monday) was off by 30 dollars. I thought, yeppie, I get to figure out what happened with that. Got back to starworld and got stuff setup.
2) The concessionist was a little late because of "traffic", which normally isn't that bad. BUT, about 10 minutes after she had been there I was ready to open the doors and let the people in for the kid shows, I asked her if she was ready. She told me she didn't have any popcorn. I was thinking, she should have started the popper first thing. I got back there, and asked her how long ago she had started it. She said 10 minutes ago. Normally the popper takes about 2 maybe 3 minutes to do the first batch, so this means that for at least 7 minutes she didn't think, hmm, maybe I should tell someone the popper is working. I ended up letting the people in and telling them we were having popper malfunctions, but that popcorn should be up shortly. I had her start the other popper.
3) She let the other popper keep running even though no oil came out to cook the popcorn seeds. Even though the oil bag had oil in it, she asked me to change it. I figured out that the oil in the line was not melted, so it was clogged. So, still no popcorn. I managed to get the other popper running, got a batch of popcorn popped and transfered to the warmer. At this point I thought, hmm, I the projectionist is probably here, but just in case, I'll go out back and check.
4) The projectionist was NOT here yet, and it was time to start the kid show. I quickly ran to the theatre and got the projector turned on and started. Then I ran and found out who wasn't here. While I was trying to call this person I went through and turned on all 19 of the remaining projectors so that there would be light in the auditoriums. After that I finally got through and woke up the projectionist who was now on their way in. At his point, I looked at my day, and I still had to figure out that messed up deposit, enter all the show times for the coming week, double check all the show times with the ad prints for the newspaper, as well as organize some paper work and finish creating a spreadsheet I had started the day before.
5) I finally was able to sit down and look at the deposit. After counting it, I found out that there was exactly the right amount for what the deposit was filled out for. The only difference was, the listing for "cash" happened to be 30 dollars more. So the amount we had the deposit slip filled out for for the deposit was exactly the amount in the deposit. This was a bit frustrating, so I went to the bank and dropped that off and picked up the change order. I was finally able to sit down around 12:30 (opened at 9:30) and start to do the show times. I was interrupted several times for lost and found, but finally got everything done and was able to relax around 3 pm.
After work was done, I ran to drop off a VCR from work for repair and to pick up my lab manual for a summer class.
6) I finally found the place, but during the time I was driving around all the corners of 21st and Memorial, my air conditioning went on and off a couple of times, it got very hot. Got that taken care of, then got my manual and went back to the house. I had a wonderful dinner made by my grandpa Potter, some pork chops. Then I got ready to work on my lab manual so I could get it turned in on-line before midnight.
7) I found out I had to mail or handin my lab manuals. It was 7:10pm. The only place I could now hand in the lab manual at was down at the Metro Campus Evening Operations that closed at 9pm. I managed to rush through and get 13/14 pages completed, rushed to Evening Operations and just managed to turn it in at 8:57pm.
Today has not been bad at all, well, not really anyways. I'm about to start studying for a test which I will take after I get off from work. Then I will pack things really quickly and drive down to the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, hopefully leaving no later than 7pm. My friend, Jay, is flying in and should arrive around 11:30pm. Then I'll be down in Dallas for my sister's wedding on Sunday, June 26th.
Also today, I worked up the courage to ask a girl out. She thought about it for a little bit and said she liked us as friends. I suppose you could say I was shot down, but I don't mind too much. It didn't get ackward after that either, which is good.
Anyways, I need to get to studying, and I'll call my dad soon to have him bring me up some lunch. I'll finally get to see people after this weekend, things should finally slow down some for me.
TUMEO.
