Weekly?

Konnichiwa こんいちわ Good afternoon,
So... it seems I've gotten into updating on Fridays, hopefully I'll break that this week. I feel pretty busy Monday thru Thursday, then Friday I try and do "catch up" on things, and R&R on Sat and Sun. I think I did really well on my first Japanese assessment test/quiz. Actually, I did really good, just looked it up, 100%, class average of 83%. First part was her speaking Japanese and us circling the translation of what she just said. It was really easy though, but all we have learned is about... 20 words (greetings mostly) and how to count from 1 to 100+ We are starting in on the actually writing system, so I'm excited about that.

My friend and former roommate, Matt, posted a link about google that's kind of disappointing, thought I'd post it here for my other friends to see.

Select Cinemas did really well this weekend, thanks to End of the Spear. Apparently for the weekend, we were ranked #10 in the nation on that movie (just the movie, not overall). That, in turn, has gotten a lot more people to know that we are open.

I hurt my toe, actually did it on the Wednesday before my last post, but it wasn't really bothering me THEN. While sparring, my toenail had apparently flipped up and then back down. I felt it at the time, but just thought it was my toe being stepped on. After I took my gear off, I noticed my toe was bloodied. I guess it got a little infected, and got super tender. Been soaking it in Epson Salt, and it's mostly better. Gotta wait on the hurt skin to be pushed out from underneath my nail though... so might be a bit until it's at 100%. Really annoying.

My grandfather, father and I watched Hoodwinked just a few hours ago, just got back from it actually. It's good, I enjoyed it, and even my father did. Grandpa managed to stay awake for most of it, until the end he finally nodded off. I think he'd be able to last through a longer movie, just have to find one he'd like.

That's all for now, I suppose.

    TUMEO.
    お元気で。

Yeah I first heard about the google thing on BBC... how very disappointing. I'm sure if everyone around the world collectively protested in some way, Google's decision can be reversed. The question is how...

the google thing is upsetting, but in interest of fairness, here is an interesting defense of google on a chinese news site i frequent http://www.danwei.org/archives/002399.html

Google's mission is to not do evil, but i guess that is relative..they are just following Chinese law, but it is upsetting that such a supposedly progressive company would kowtow so quickly to the CCP for the sake of profit. Another reason I hate business

oh, on こんにちわ you probably typed "KONNICHIWA"
this is technically incorrect (though you will find Japanese making the same mistake. The grammatically correct way is こんにちは "KONNICIHA" the "HA" is actually functioning as a particle (you will learn all this soon) It is originally part of a longer expression that just got shortened over the passage of time.

If you have questions, let me know
