I am back in Vancouver to visit Andrea and the family this week - also working in Vancouver office.
It is day 3 and there's one thing I don't miss about the city - COMMUTING. It takes me about 35mins (by car) or >1hr (by transit) to get to the office here. Back in Whitehorse... I work at 8:30am, get up at 8am, 5-10mins to get ready, and another 5mins to drive to work, with about another 10mins to spare.
I'm tired of the commute... so I'm staying in bed until 8:25 and work at home tomorrow at 8:30. Might as well since the staff here are asking if I'm working in the office or at home. Does that mean I have an option?!?! Consulting is awesome.
Anyways, so the merge is coming along. Still trying to grasp how all this will work out with now over 35,000 employees all over the world. I noticed we have an office with another firm in Plano... In the interest of ensuring the merge and global integration runs smoothly, I'll fly down and split my working week between that office and Jon's apartment. After that I'm thinking the Honolulu office, followed by London or Tokyo.
