Penticton Cont.

Folder 1 001.jpg

I got back yesterday from Penticton... had a fabulous time there visiting Kristi's family and checking out the town. We arrived Thursday night... had dinner, then drove around and she showed me the beaches. Friday was spent swimming and kayaking in the Okanagan Lake (shown above). Then that night we went to the pub cuz we sorta got hungry... After the pub I had to drive her standard Civic because Kristi was a bit drunk. Luckily I chose not to drink cuz I drank the night before. Anyways, we both thought it would be a long drive home because I haven't driven a stick in 4 years when Jon taught me. I didn't even stall the car as I pulled out of the parking lot. The first intersection I stalled 3 times, but after that it was a smooth ride home... :) So that I am quite proud of. I rememered how to use the clutches from Jon and was quite familiar with changing gears because Moon taught me that in Thailand. Damn rights... :)

Then Saturday it turns out that her parents were gonna help her with the car financially... so she didn't have to sell it. We ended up driving home instead of taking Greyhound. Also spent Saturday morning out on the lake... we took her grandma's small boat.

Overall, it was nice to get away from the big city... had a really good time.

I also saw this in downtown Penticton, which I thought was quite nice. Everybody here is tuned to the news of what's been happening down there and sending supplies and teams to help.

in Penticton, BC

Umm, yeah... I'm here in Penticton with Kristi and staying at her parents house (it's 4 hrs east of Vancouver in interior BC). Really shocked that I'm here with her considering I've only known her for 2-3 weeks. She is selling her '98 Civic here and needed to drop it off... so that's why we're here. Meeting her parents were kinda weird too... even though we're not dating or anything. So I got here Thursday @ 6pm and will be going back to Vancouver Saturday.

Onto a more serious matter... We've been following the Katrina news up here in Canada. I was just telling Kristi that I know Grandpa Potter from down south and have expressed my concerns... been wanting to ask Jon on his condition, but just haven't had the opportunity. So I'm glad that Jon posted some pictures and that he is okay...

Just want him to know I've been thinking about him as well as the rest of the country. Vancouver has sent some form of relief team down there to help out... you'll be in my prayers.
