What Thanksgiving...

All this talk about Thanksgiving... and here I am preparing for my presentation to graduate students from McRae Institute's Asia Pacific Management Cooperative Program at Capilano College on Thursday. My old professor is teaching a course and wanted me to do a talk on Burma for his students. After that I got to head to work and finish my deadlines.

My mom left for Taiwan last Friday, so I'm having to do lots around the house... if only I had a day off.

My World Map

worldmap.gif
I found this cool website where you can produce a map of all the countries you have visited. So this is my map... I have visited and lived in 9 countries, which is only 4% of all the countries according to the site. What's even worse is that I've only been to 3 regions... North America, Southeast Asia and East Asia. Where is the DIVERSIFICATION?

I want to be a geologist

Nov 8, 2005.JPG

You know... I should of been a geologist. Here's why:

On Monday Jamie and I had to attend this breakfast meeting to listen to a mining company talk about its operations in Saskatchewan. So a bunch of politicians, lawyers, businessmen and geologists showed up for the event. We had to go because the Ministry of Energy and Mines wanted a government presence... so we got dragged to attend this 7am breakfast talk. It turns out that this event was simply for the Ministry and the company to get to know eachother. Stupid morons... who in their right mind would schedule a 7am breakfast meeting... I had to wake up at 5:45. I felt uncomfortable too because everyone had suits on except very few others... I'm only a co-op student.

Anyways, after that Jamie and I drove to Abbotsford to visit some quarry sites. We met up with a crew from Victoria and did that from 10:30 till 4. It was a blast... going out there and studying rocks in the open pits... certainly made good use of our trucks. :)

With this job, I have finally realized how much travelling geologists do. If someone freaking told me... I would of been a geologist!!!!
