Merry Christmas

Just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Spent all day yesterday helping move Jason & Breanne's stuff from Burnaby to Langley. It was just the two of us, and now I am all sore.

I am also extremely busy with work. Craig is in Mexico for 2 weeks, Alex in Calgary for 1 week and I am working everyday researching & writing my project... Craig wants about 20 pages. It is due by Jan 8th for editing and distribution before I start school again. So yes I am stressed.

We're having our turkey dinner tonight, and tomorrow having another turkey dinner at Jason's parents house with Jason and Breanne. Jason just proposed this week and so will be getting married next year. Congratulations man!

Also can't wait for Andrea to get back. She's spending 9 days in Phoenix with her American side of the family.

Finished

I'M DONE! I'M DONE! Finally done with this semester! Turned in my last paper today. Never written so much in my entire life, so really glad it is all over.

What's more important is that my grades for this semester looks to be pretty good. Also got my paper back from last week, B+. So my final grade for China geography class is B+. That's a 3.33 GPA... minimum for UBC. Not going to worry too much about my cumulative GPA, since they mostly look at last 2 years. Also expecting a B+ and a B or B+ in other 2 classes. Barely surviving...

Next semester much more relaxed... not much writing but mostly final exams. Grades will definately suffer. Much prefer writing now.

Me no English

I'm walking back to the office from a store... pass by this chick who hands me a pamphlet. I look at it a few blocks later and it turns out I passed by one of the profuse English language schools in Vancouver, and they just handed me a brochure of their English classes.

Excuse me... but do I look like someone who needs an ESL lesson? My English is fine thank you very much! Stupid racial profiling...

Turned in my 15 page paper on Monday, and last paper due on Wednesday. 10 pages on the 'model minority' Asian stereotype in US media.

That's right... I'm a model minority - that means I am an "over-achiver". Why would I need an ESL lesson? All jokes aside, I would say I'm a good example to deconstruct this stereotype.
