2007 Plans

Been really long since I updated. That's because I've been extremely busy... especially during the Christmas break from school. Instead of relaxing, I was told to get started writing my project at work. So I did that for 2 weeks... wrote 20 pages or so and still not finished. Really annoyed at that time because I wanted to take it easy after the intense semester. Andrea also came back after Christmas Day and spent some time together.

Anyways, it's 2007 and this should be an exciting year. I'm finally graduating and will spend half the year looking for a job in China. The plan is to work for a NGO that works on environment and human rights issues; a Western consulting firm with offices in China like AMEC or Golder; or lastly work in an embassy. Not too worried about finding a job because I've got pretty good experiences. Tough part is to find a job with a wage that is comparatively same as that in North America. As for why give up a good job here and work in China? Simply because life is too short... if I don't do it now then I will never get a chance again.

So now the new semester has started and looks this semester is more reading than the last. However, not as many papers to write. My two Japanese courses are great... one is culture and history while the other is political science on Japan's government and politics. The two geographies are not so bad either: Natural Hazards and Geography of Health & Healthcare.

To answer Benson's question... this summer will be taking 1-2 courses and then a 12 day trip in August. Most likely to Japan to visit Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo.
