Here are a few pictures from Queen Elizabeth Park when I was in Vancouver this past week. This was also where I proposed to Andrea.

and finally the beautiful dome.
Andrea will be coming up this weekend for 10days... we'll be driving to Skagway, Alaska on Saturday, which also happens to be summer solstice. Now that I have my camera back I will be taking lots of pictures.
I am back in Vancouver to visit Andrea and the family this week - also working in Vancouver office.
It is day 3 and there's one thing I don't miss about the city - COMMUTING. It takes me about 35mins (by car) or >1hr (by transit) to get to the office here. Back in Whitehorse... I work at 8:30am, get up at 8am, 5-10mins to get ready, and another 5mins to drive to work, with about another 10mins to spare.
I'm tired of the commute... so I'm staying in bed until 8:25 and work at home tomorrow at 8:30. Might as well since the staff here are asking if I'm working in the office or at home. Does that mean I have an option?!?! Consulting is awesome.
Anyways, so the merge is coming along. Still trying to grasp how all this will work out with now over 35,000 employees all over the world. I noticed we have an office with another firm in Plano... In the interest of ensuring the merge and global integration runs smoothly, I'll fly down and split my working week between that office and Jon's apartment. After that I'm thinking the Honolulu office, followed by London or Tokyo.
I had my first "Yukon adventure" this past weekend. Friday night Chad, a co-worker, his gf and I drove to Little Atlin Lake to camp for the night, and Saturday morning met up with some of his buddies to kayak to an island on Snafu Lake. Little did I know, Snafu is made up of a series of lakes connected by narrow streams. It took us 4hrs of kayaking to finally reach the island on the last lake and had to tow our boats over and across 4 beaver dams.
Once we got there we did some fishing and one of the guys caught a 30" trout and also a big pike about 26"... HUGE!!! And of course camping is not camping unless you grill the fish you catch... So we gutted and prepared the fish on the mainland (we're camping overnight on the island). It was a good thing we did this, because at 2am our two dogs barked repeatedly at the rumbling in the bush near the site where the fish was prepared. We never found out who or what made the noise, but its a safe bet it was a grizzly bear.
Anyways, I've been told repeatedly to expect bears the minute you step outside of Whitehorse... point taken. We also had a golden eagle fly directly over us and quite a few bald eagles. I was a bit disappointed I didn't see more...
No pictures because I left my camera with my mom the last time I was in Vancouver... but don't worry, I imagine I will be going on few more trips since Chad goes camping every weekend.
