It just occurred to me I haven't posted many pictures of Whitehorse. Here's one of downtown in September taken from the top of the Clay Cliffs.
5 months into Whitehorse and it has finally arrived... WINTER. It started snowing about 3 weeks ago and the temperature has been around -10. I believe one day it was even -20. So yes, it is cold. I have not been this cold since my days in Alaska in 2nd grade. I forget the tingling sensation of your nose hair freezing when you step outside. The coldest is yet to come: -40 degrees Celsius.
Despite the chilling temperature, it is gorgeous up here. I am also looking forward to the aurora and the Yukon Quest in February. Right now, we're looking forward to Christmas Vancouver & Phoenix for some warm air... family too of course.
Andrea and I recently bought our tickets to China for our honeymoon next year, Aug 3-21. I did some research last night on places to visit and I think I got it figured out. The schedule will be tight but we land in Shanghai and will try to go see Chengdu and Kangding & Tagong grasslands in Sichuan Province. Sooooooo looking forward to backpacking again.
I'm off to Calgary for a few days and as soon as I get some winter pictures I'll get them posted.
