I lose track of time as we tend to Christopher. He is beginning to sleep longer between feedings, which is a great accomplishment as Laura and I need a few more hours of sleep. He slept well last night so we feel great today.John gave Christopher his first bath last night and was a screaming good time.Nothing better than a sweet smelling baby.We took the boys shopping the past two days and to doctor appointments since John was home and could help us.We are home today doing catchup on the house and regular "stuff".Got to run as someone is crying.I'm loving being a grandma for the second time!
It's been along day as Christopher had his picture taken. He bellows when his diaper is changed. He is nursing greedily.Laura is in a bit of pain but is allowed to eat regular food this evening. She and baby will be home tomorrow.Kyle is in his own bed tonight and will prepare to meet his brother tomorrow on a permanent basis...should be interesting.Emily and Kane came to visit and helped with Kyle and downloading and posting pictures. We hope to get a lot of pictures in the gallery when Laura has time tomorrow. The fun begins tomorrow when Christopher and Laura arrive. Will keep you up to date.
I've spent the day at the hospital with Laura, John and Christopher.Kyle spent the day with grandma Mullen but did come to visit briefly this evening.Christopher is nursing well and is alert and has a fine set of lungs. He has opened his eyes from day one and protests whenever his diaper is changed. He is getting his picture made tomorrow and we are hopeful than mother and son will be coming home Thursday.I'll have Kyle at his home tomorrow afternoon to prepare for Christopher's arrival.Kyle is still mostly ignoring his brother and snubbed Laura this evening until his uncle prepared to take Kyle back to grandma Mullen's.Kyle then began to want his mom and cried.I guess we'll have to take one day at the time with the new baby.I'll spend time cleaning the house and getting those last minute jobs accomplished that Laura wasn't able to do.I'll post pictures if I can remember the process, otherwise I'll wait until Laura gets here as she is the pro at this house.
What a day we've had.Started at 7am when Laura called saying she was having contractions.I threw my clothes in my bag, wake up Jonathan, call Robert and eveyother family member and zoom to McKinney.I arrive in time to see my new grandson and John and Laura as she is being made ready to move to her room.Christopher James Mullen arrived at 9:49A.M. weighing in at 8lb.8oz.and 19in.A BIG BOYwith lots of dark hair.I got to change his first diaper! WOW another grandson..we are thrilled. Laura is doing well though in some discomfort and somewhat groggy. She hopefully will get some sleep tonight.Kyle is suspicious of this new bundle and wonders just what the fuss is about.I think he is going to be jealous of this new package but we'll see. I'll post more tomorrow as I'm weary and Grandpa and i are thinking that we need some sleep outselves. Check in tomorrow for more details.
Arrived back in Tulsa just before noon and have been unpacking.Robert is mowing the lawn so I can put out the weed and feed and get the flower beds ready for spring.Tomorrow Jonathan, Robert and I will be over at Owasso officiating at AWANA games and Sparks-A-Rama.I'll be here until Tuesday.Laura is doing Ok so far but is confined to sitting with her feet up as much as possible. The family is betting on the date of Christopher's arrival.Laura and I are resting this week as once the baby does arrive, there will be no rest! I'll post some pictures once Emily gets home from the hospital tonight. Jonathan should be arriving today as it is his spring break.Emily will be driving to College Station to visit Kane and others in that area. Will be a brief but busy stay until I drive back to Texas.
Nothing but rain since I've been here.We have done a little shopping and found a few items.I repaired a broken chair and cleaned today while Jen was at work. We experimented on a fish dish tonight and was great.Maybe the weather will be better tomorrow. I have only one more day here so we have quite a lot planned. I seem to bring rain whenever I visit anywhere. I dread the drive back to McKinney as the most exciting thing along the way will be an occasional Roadrunner or a house or two and lots of small towns with its own speed zones and maybe a stop sign and sometimes even a stop LIGHT. I do have my books on tape to keep me company. Catch you later.....
