We have a stiff wind today and lots of sunshine. This is a good day to work outside except Emily and I need to work in the "cave" or our extra bedroom today as Kyle will be sleeping there when I bring the boys and Laura here next week.Grandpa Potter will be here on Tuesday and I want him to see the boys and Laura for longer than a day.Our yardwork is completed for now.It has taken us most of last week to get the yard in some kind of order.I will be driving to McKinney, Texas on Thursday or Friday to visit my grandsons and to do some yardwork for Laura. We'll drive back here on Monday or Tuesday to have time with Grandpa. Then back to Texas on Saturday to drop off Laura and the boys and to do some shopping at the ourlet mall where Grandpa gets a special 45% discount at certain stores.Lots to do today so better get busy.
We've had a lot of rain the past 3 days along with lightening, thunder and the threat of tornadoes. We planted a dogwood tree in the front yard, a tea rose (yellow with hint of pink), and a red weigela to finish the landscaping along the side fence. The yellow climbing roses and the pink with purple clematis are climbing up the arbor and you can see the pond and waterfall are looking pretty good so far. Emily and I have been busy trying to get the yard ready for summer and I think we're on the right track. Lots more to do as time permits. I spent last week getting my mother's yard in shape. The deck needed painting and the back 85' of fence along the backyard. Also the bushes along the front of the house needed cutting back and pine bark mulch placed in the flower beds. Looked like a different house once all the work was completed. I'm still recovering from the work and will soon be heading back to Texas to see my grandsons....I need a little rest first. Emily is going to add some pictures of the other plants to the gallery, so check them out.
Today began cool and cloudy and this afternoon is sunny and warm...typical Oklahoma spring. We colored our Easter eggs yesterday and watched the new Veggie Tales CD-Easter Carol.Today was back to the Y for usual workout and then to Lowes for another light for the fan in Jonathan's room as it is somewhat dark in that bedroom. The most difficult part of putting in the new light is finding the circut breaker that connects to that room!I did some yardwork and have more to do and will get to it by and by.Yesterday, Emily and I met Melissa Washburn and Marcia Kirshman at the airport as they were heading back to Salt Lake after attending the funeral of Marcia's mother who passed away suddenly. We enjoyed our visit with them, but not the circumstances. We pray for them and the family as they adjust to the mother's death. Will post pictures when Jonathan solves the problems of resizeing that we encountered this weekend.Maybe we can get them into the gallery...I'll try later tonight.
I've been doing the laundry all day and am going to finally stop and enter some information to whoever reads these entrys.I'm catching up on my rest but there is so much cleaning to do in the house and yard that I've not gotten much in the way of rest yet.I need to get rid of a lot of clutter all over the house and am ready to get a Uhaul and cart off all this junk.I can't do yard work today as it is steadily raining but there is always next week.Jonathan, Robert and I will be driving to Prague for the Ok state finals in awana tomorrow...why they ended up with finals on Easter weekend is one of those big questions.Anyway, we'll do our thing and be back late Saturday.I'm planning to drive to Arkansas on Thursday after my shift at the hospital, and visit my mother and get some yard and house work accomplished over the weekend.Got to go....
I've finally decided to sit and fill you in on my comings and goings....I've about recovered from the 2 weeks helping Laura with our newest grandson and our oldest grandson.....Christopher is a doll and I'm loving this little bundle of joy but oh can he scream and thrash about when he takes a notion (southern for when I want to). Laura and I had a system of handing off this bundle during the night...she would feed him and I would change diapers and burp him, then sometimes I had to change his entire clothing as he would wet everything and everyone around. This worked pretty well during the day and night and Laura got some sleep. Now that I'm back in Tulsa, she is probably getting very little sleep but that is motherhood! Today I've installed a new set of lights onto the fan in the family room and replaced a leaking T joint in the sprinkler system.I need to vacuum, mop, dust and generally "clean" the entire house. So much for resting.........got to get back to work......
