Sunday...rest

This day is going by quickly. We went to early church so had time to do some shopping.Emily wants to try one of those new painting techniques called color washing. We investigated the process and will get started on her room sometime this week. We've been working in the yard this afternoon as the hot temperatures cause an algae bloom and we have to clean the pond filters more often.I've been pulling weeds which of course is a never ending job.I'm watching the final game in the Little League World Series,I enjoy watching the kids play. The AWANA leadership conference in Oklahoma City went well and had a lot of new people starting the program and they needed lots of information. Our program will begin in 2 weeks.I'm planning to visit the grandson's this coming weekend...and Laura and John.I'll be driving to Arkansas the 13th......Jonathan's birthday is coming up soon....Sept 12th.Guess I'd better get back to the baseball game.

rain and more rain

This has been a week of confusing weather...rain and low 80's or mid 70's.Seems like an early fall but probably will be blazing hot next week.Emily and I had lots of places to go today. We bought her another bata and some other fish for her tank,we took her car in for an oil change,we visited Kohl's for some work out shorts, and we visited Lowe's to view flooring as I'm sick of this carpet. So lots of driving around Tulsa today.Jonathan is back for the weekend.Emily and I saw Manchurian Candidate last night...was lots of thinking as the plot thickened.I finally dug up the pyracanthia as it never produced one berry and lots of thorns.........took a lot of effort but I rejoice that that plant is now gone.We have been watching the Olympics and cheering for the USA.I've got to get ready for the AWANA leadership conference scheduled for next Saturday.Got to go as the food is here.

Busy,busy, busy

I'm taking a minute to update...lots of cleaning to do in the house.I worked in the yard yesterday and this morning and am now turning my attention to the house.I need to vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms etc...the ususal.Jonathan moved some of the large items to his dorm yesterday and will move more over the weekend. He is getting a haircut presently.Robert and I will be driving over to Pryor, Ok this Saturday to begin one of many AWANA basic training sessions. He runs the laptop and I talk and talk....We will be involved with Evergreen Baptist Church this year in their AWANA program as directors in the 3rd though 6th grade area.We recently joined this church and are diving into helping in anyway we can. This will be new for Robert as it has been awhile since he's worked in a program..I've never stopped! So another adventure for us.Emily is still in College Station visiting with Kane and friends. She should return on Sunday to begin getting ready for work on the pediatric floor at Hillcrest and preparing for her last year in nursing school.Robert and I will be busy for the next few months with AWANA workshops and training so I won't be visiting Laura for sometime.I will have to drive to Arkansas to check on my mother...Lots to do and so little time!

There and back again

Just returned from visiting Laura and the boys in McKinney, Texas for the week.Ibabysat the boys and started Kyle "potty training". He is doing pretty well and with time, should not go to Kindergarden in diapers!C.J. is laughing and kicking and trying to roll over.He weighs 21 pounds.I've been lifting weights at the YMCA and have strengthened my arms and shoulder muscles..and I used all of those muscles lifting C.J. this week.I'll have to decompress after being the babysitter all week and running 24/7!Grandchildren are a joy and I'm looking forward to more of them one day.I'll have to work in the yard all week as Emily and Robert and I were all gone for the week leaving Jonathan here to manage everything. He did OK but the weeds are in my flowerbeds and are calling for attention.Laura's school began this week and Jennifer's will begin on the 16th.Jonathan will be taking his stuff over to the dorm this week and classes will begin on the 23rd at OSU.Emily's nursing classes begin on the 19th.So--soon this house will be all to quiet and though that sounds great now, after a few weeks,it gets too quiet and I begin missing the noise and activity.Got to go as there is something to clean all over the house.
