The temperatures are still unpredictable but definitely cooler. The grass is turning brown and leaves are falling.I've got to get outside today and mulch the roses and do some preparations for winter. The pond water is clear and the fish are moving slower with the lower temperatures at night. Emily is in Plano for another friends wedding this weekend.Laura and John are recovering from stomach flu and thankfully, the boys are healthy so far.Jonathan is home for the weekend and working at the theater. He has turned into a creature of the night, staying up until 2 or 3 am and sleeping until noon...oh the freedom of college life!!!He's days are numbered and all to soon, he'll be in the "real" world and should enjoy these last few semesters of college!! The Smith reunion last Saturday was an experience.Meeting extended family is interesting and informative.I took a video of the event and had family members tell something about themselves so I could remember who they were and such.I sure did miss my Dad and everyone remembers him fondly....doesn't seem like he's been gone 10 months.Mother had to have my brother drive her to visit her sister who had a mild stroke and is in rehab in a small Arkansas town. She is doing well and should be out of rehab in a few weeks.I'm waiting for my parquet flooring to arrive so we can get this stinking carpet out of the dinning room.I've lots of projects in the works and better end so I can get on at least one of them.
It is interesting that the days pass slowly now that the boys have returned to Texas.I have enjoyed having my own time to accomplish various task here in the house and outside in the backyard.I do find that I'm getting things finished and have so much time left in the day.I was hoping to get the parquet flooring today but will have to delay as the store is ordering a sample and will mail it to me this next week. I'll be in Arkansas but that's fine as nothing can be done until I return anyway.Jonathan drove home this weekend as we had to get the electrical problems solved relating to the Geo and a new set of tires. He worked and returned to OSU this afternoon.Emily is talking to photographers and making arrangements with Kane's parents for the rehearsal dinner in June.I'm glad that she can get all these arrangements made as I am not suited to such details especially after 2 previous weddings!I'm still not sure we'll live through another wedding....Emily is making plans and phone calls so I can sit back and just observe and make comments when asked...fine with me. Will try and get the house cleaned before I leave for Arkansas.Temperatures are chilly and I'm not looking forward to cold days and colder nights.Got to get back to the college football games....Hope all of you have a great weekend.
The boys are home and the house is too quiet today.I find myself listening for the baby and wondering what Kyle is doing.Emily and I are rested and she is once again on the road to various places around Dallas.I will be driving to Arkansas on Tuesday to visit and help with preparations for the Smith family reunion on October 23rd.I suppose Emily and I are always on the move...driving to somewhere or back from somewhere.I think that we both need to have our time occupied as we are restless.Jennifer is still struggling with that first year of teaching.Laura and I try to encourage her as that first year is so difficult until you get adqusted.Emily has a week off between classes and is interviewing photographers along with visiting friends and Kane.As I constantly say..there is never a dull moment with our family.
Robert's birthday came and went without too much fanfare as Emily was the only one around. The other children are probably waiting for the weekend to celebrate with us...if you forgot, better get busy!!!The boys are settling in and Emily and I are beginning to appreciate SLEEP.Kyle and CJ did remarkably well in the nursery last night while Robert and I were involved with AWANA.Kyle was playing with or around the other children and CJ just smiled and played with the baby toys.Emily and I have discovered that toddlers and baby's "stuff" are expensive...diapers, pull-ups, formula, toddler food etc....you better take out a loan if you plan to have any children to those who don't have any children yet!!Get to go for another "potty" break...Kyle is doing very well.
C J is in the pre-crawling stage and is happy playing on his playmat.
Kyle plays and plays with the train, CJ plays with his toys and Granpa watches and sometimes plays as well!
Kyle likes to watch the fish and to put his hands into the water
The boys,Emily and I went to the mall yesterday afternoon to check shoe sizes.Kyle is now into a 9W and CJ into a 41/2 XW.The lady at the shoes store said that CJ just could wait until later as his feet were too large for pre-walkers!The temperatures in Tulsa are now into the 50's in the mornings and get to the 80's by mid day....will be cold before long all day.Robert is feeling better and back to work fulltime. The house is in a mess as I simply don't have the time to clean up.Hopefully, Emily and I can work on that today after she returns from class.Got to go as Kyle needs to sit on the potty!!!!
Kyle and CJ are doing fine here in Tulsa while their mom and dad are enjoying a short vacation.Grandma is feeling the strain mostly because of lack of sleep but having a blast with the boys never the less.Everyone is helping watch the boys as you can see from some of t he pictures.Kyle is doing well with the potty training and isn't in pull ups during the day except for nap time. He is having accidents less and less as he catches on to using the potty.CJ is mostly happy until he get hungry or sleepy.So.....we'll see how the rest of the week goes....
C J is happy when he is sitting and playing with his toys
Kyle discovers Jonathan's old train set and plays for hours
Kyle helping Uncle Jonathan change the oil and oil filter
Emily trying to study for her nursing exam....Ha!!
Kyle has discovered Laura's rocking horse that Grandpa Potter made in 1974!
