Cat on Lap

I'll try and post a few lines while I have a minute and Pookie is sitting on my lap trying to help me type! She is doing better since I began giving her the antibiotics and wet food though I think she is just old. The boys are home and Emily and I are still recovering from the babysitting.I find myself listening for them throughout the day, grandson's can grow on you!Robert and i are off to McAlaster tomorrow for another AWANA Bible Quiz and games for Sparks and T&T.I am spending the day cleaning, doing laundry and trying to clear the clutter from the downstairs. All of this work is depressing as i'll just have to do it all again next week.I see that the crab grass is lush in my yard and I'll have another job with the weed killer this afternoon.Emily and I will be driving down for Kyle's 3rd birthday next weekend and CJ's first birthday on the 15th.I think Jennifer said she was driving to Dallas for spring break so we'll all be together for CJ's birthday and imagine the chaos and confussion when all us "Potter's" are together under one roof!!!! Got to go....

Day 6 with the boys

CJ is napping and Emily is taking Kyle to the park so I can take a moment and update. We are into a constant motion mode while the boys are here.Emily has been a huge help as she can occupy Kyle while I care for CJ.Of course the world continues to spin so we do have to get the normal household chores accomplished and try and get food on the table etc.I am beginning to remember back when I was raising the 4 kids and everthing else....youth has its advantages!!Robert and I will be in Oklahoma City tomorrow helping with Awana Bible Quizzing and Jonathan will be there coaching a team.Laura and John are driving here after work tonight so they can have all day tomorrow with the boys.Got to go as the laundry is waiting and the vacuum is ready to go......

Grandchildren!

Emily and I are into our 3rd day with the boys.John's grandmother is still in the hospital, so his mother felt that she couldn't watch them this week. So,once again the boys are here for the short term.I'm glad that I've been working out at the Y because you have to be in good shape to keep up with these boys.As you can see, we did manage to get to the mall to buy shoes for the boys. They both have wide feet and this was CJ's first pair of shoes (6 1/2)XW! Kyle measured 9 1/2W.Kyle has had a bad cold and is a crank and not eating much.He did eat 2 pieces of toast this morning and drank milk and juice. We'll see what he'll eat when he gets up from his nap.CJ is beginning to slim down since he is crawling and crusing and constantly moving.Emily and I are having a brief moment while both boys are napping.Laura is catching up on the work she lost while recovering from concussion and broken wrist last week. She has a lot to do with grades due next Tuesday. Robert is off to New York today and tomorrow. The weather has been cold and wet so our trips outside are rare.Got to go....hear someone crying!!

UGH ! snow!

Woke up this morning to see a dusting of snow and thankfully it was gone by midmorning.I guess I loth snow because of the 3 years we spent in Pennsylvania during the early 70's.I had to drive 19 miles to a consolidated school out in the less populated countryside where I taught 6th grade. The snow pilled up in great snowbanks and I wore boots, wool coat, hat gloves and a scarf.....I was never really warm all fall and winter and usually not until summer. What I really hated was the slush left once the snow began to melt....cold and wet and dirty.
Returned from Arkansas on Monday. Had a great visit with my mother.I only did a few odd jobs for her so we talked most of the time. She is getting along amazingly. She received her books on tape and tape player yesterday so has enjoyed listening to Grace Livingston Hill for the first time in a long while.
Laura should be almost finished with her visit to the orthopedist at this time. She fractured one of the bones in her left arm on Monday morning when she tripped over some dictionaries that the janitor has forgotten to put away overnight. She also hit her head on her desk and has a mild concussion. They put her arm in a soft cast and she is visiting the doctor today to see if anything else needs to be done to the arm.She will probably update sometime this week on her condition.
Got to close and get back to studying my story for AWANA tonight.
