Five pictures becomes One: The Smith Family Reunion

After much time and concentrated effort --- Laura photoshopped all the sneering, screaming, closed eyed people out and exchanged them for smiling faces. This is the best picture of all of us!

Second Floor Framing

Front view of the house...you can see the separation in the garages and the front porch as well as a better outline of the front door and grandpa's room.

Framing on First Floor

It is easier to see when you walk it first hand and hard to capture on camera (in order to get all the angles correct -- but here are our attempts). We figure that at the rate they are going, second floor will be framed the next time we come.

Bigger Lot then we Thought

While we were out taking pictures of the lot, Mark came over and showed us that the lot actually extends into the wildlife preserve at least another 4 to 5 feet. The picture with the orange flag on the stake shows the depth from the survey.

Pictures of the measuring on the foundation for the framing -- chalk lines, the screws into the concrete and the first wall --- to Grandpa's room built and ready to put into place possibly tomorrow.

Thursday's Progress

The workers are putting nails into the concrete for the framing, the driveway and sidewalks are finished and the wood for the framing has been delivered. We are going back this evening to get better pictures but here's what we have for now.

Foundation complete --- next step Framing!

Our weekly report on the progress of the Potter Homestead.
They finished the foundation and it appears to have set. Looks like the outline for the driveway and sidewalks are being put in. To our best guess using the house next door as a guide --- next step is framing.

We had a fantastic vacation to Hot Springs and one of the best experiences was at Lake Catherine.Kyle and Christopher swam in a lake for the first time and didn't want to leave. We spent several hours swimming, hiking, talking and enjoying the view.
