On the Road Again

Just returned from Arkansas where I spent a few days helping my mother with Painting!I had a lot of work to do on the deck before even beginning to paint. The old paint had to be scraped off and the boards thoroughly cleaned.I had only a few hours in the morning to paint as the extreme temperatures resulted in the paint drying to fast. So, I painted early and late....after the 3rd coat of paint...I quit! However, mom wanted the swing examined and wouldn't you know that it needed restained and sealed...another round of "beating the heat" to get that job completed.Then...mom wanted the metal milk can painted...this required sanding, sanding and sanding to remove the rust, cleaning with mineral spirits and once again painting. All painting was completed and I rejoiced!!The last task was to move mother's mailbox from across the street to as close to the house as possible. My brother started this process before I arrived and I was in charge of taking the paper work to the post office. The postmaster was accommodating and after reviewing the paperwork, allowed the box to be moved.......so, Mother's neighbor and I dug, pounded and adjusted the new pole and box into the new location....So, once again my list has been checked off one item at a time....I said good bye to mother and headed for Oklahoma. I'll be here until Sunday, then head for Texas.....always on the move!!!
