And then came the wind

So my last track meet of the year scheduled for today has been canceled due to the quite legitimate complaint that winds of 60 mph variety might actually pick up a 7th grade hurdler and cause them to hurdle through the air.
So I guess it's one day of rest before the complete stupidity that is me helping at a high school district meet set starting blocks on the track. Turns out you need 8 college graduates to do that task. Who knew?

I've really enjoyed reading your blogs lately. Sounds like coaches and band directors have more in common than I thought. Well, except the winds outside don't affect the band playing inside! Jenny said that she has a major activity every day the week of May 1 plus that Saturday is a field trip/day of fun for the band middle-schoolers, who will bus over to some city (I forget which one) to play instruments and have fun for about 20 hours straight, counting the bus ride! She will be exhausted. It's a good thing I don't either coach or teach band. I'm doing good to get through a "normal" work day. Well, hang in there.
