6 weeks and a yarn shop

Okay so flat out crazy crazy week. I got off of the tournament had a game on Monday and then had to get grades in for the final 6 weeks. It was a pretty blurred and busy week. But I have had today to do nothing and that has been great.
And made my day a new yarn shop has opened in Lubbock. It's a miracle. I can actually get the yarn I want without going through the internet. I mean how cool is that... I am very excited.

Rene has expanded our little flower bed into a bigger flower bed and it is now full of pretty flowers and I like it. We also have made purchases of some patio furniture, weed eaters, and a tree trimmer. It's crazy we can actual do that now. I guess one of the benefits of having a nondonar supported job. I will post some pictures for everybody later.

Much love, yarn makes me happy.

My First Tournament

This weekend was my first volleyball tournament with the 9th graders. Gotta say it kind of sucks to have weekend tournament because basically I don't get a weekend. On top of that it meant getting a substitute for Friday. And my students must have thought I was joking when I said that there would be severe consequences if they misbehaved because they were bad. It means I am going to have to be mean mean mean tommorow with two of my classes. What fun.
Let's see I'm a little on edge, feeling really tired and wishing today was Saturday instead of Sunday. And also wishing I had planned more for the upcoming week, but I didn't. It means this week maybe a little intense when you add in it's the 6th week which means all grades need to be in by Monday at 8:00. YEAH!!! Of course I guess the good news is I have made it this far. Although right now I am wishing I had a good break coming up and well I'm not.
Rene is going out of town on Thursday to see his supervisor in New York. So I will be alone this weekend and may or may not have another tournament. The next weekend I have training and the weekend after that another tournament and you know lesson planning as well and grades and all that other smack.
I had some time to scream and decompress today before I hit the pavement again.
Man what a life. Hopefully I will see everyone soon, I miss you all sooooo much. Give kisses to all the babies out there.
Still alive in lubbock.

Getting into a rhythm, maybe???

Hey all well so I have just finished my fourth week of teaching. All and all not so bad. Things feel a little more under control and I think I might have some idea of what I'm doing. But probably the best part of the week has been actually living my life.
The first few weeks of school were so overwhelming, the schedule was packed, I didn't know what I was doing, and I was adjusting to a new job and all that. But I think I'm finally lifting my head above the job and feel alive again. Which is good cause it means hanging out, spending time with Jesus, having date nights, and being somewhat aware of the world around me.
So I'm in a better mood these days, although allergies are still plauging me and that always make me feel rundown.
I have some nice shots of the garden I have yet to post. But hopefully will get to that this weekend.

PS It turns out being a coach really does mean wearing coaching gear. So I dress casual all the time, which I guess is nice since I never have been one to dress up. And you know ironies abound as once again in a school setting my main choice is sweat pants....
