Well here is some of the fruits of my labor. Lots and lots of tomatoes and carrots grew this year. And strangely through no planting of my own right now we are growing a rather huge tomatillo plant. Tomatillos are the little green tomato like plants you put in good salsa. This year's success is mainly in tomatoes, carrots, swiss chard, and marigolds. Quien sabe?

Here's our fire bowl, burning away merrily. I was so proud of myself for not using any lighter fluid and still getting a good fire burning. You see we don't need any thing but wood and matches and we can make fire. Girl Scouts rocks!!!

So long since last I updated

Well so I haven't updated in forever. Lots of excuses but not that are that convincing. Just haven't gotten around to it. Of course millions of things continued to happen so now I have to decide what I might want to update about.

Let's see, week 10 of school is halfway through. I am doing okay. It is benchmark testing which is like a pertend TAKS test, which means the week is useless for teaching anything. On the upside, volleyball season ended on Monday and try outs for basketball don't start until next week, which means I am taking a break this week, which means getting to school later than usual and leaving at 4:15. And God's grace would have it that during the three hours of silent testing I have time to get caught up on grading and lesson plans for science that is all really good.

My yard. Well got a new tool, a tree pruner and Rene and I went a little crazy but our trees now look at least semi decent and not totally out of control. So since we had all this dead wood, we got this thing to burn it in and low and behold I still remember how to make a good fire.

So for those of you who don't know, we have six trees on our property and they haven't been pruned in probably twenty plus years, there are lots and lots of dead branches not to mention just pruning. So we have cut down what feels like a whole tree and we aren't done yet. CRAZINESS.

Our flower bed is really pretty and the garden is still making tomatoes which is nuts. I keep thinking things will die soon but they don't and that's kind of fun.

Rene cut his hair finally and donated 12 inches to locks of love and now he has short hair and it looks pretty good I will have to sneak a picture soon.

Miss you all

Jen
