Okay so I haven't updated in a long time. There's no excuse.
So for people wondering. Yes I did go to New York City during January. Rene's boss lives in The Bronx and he was having a team meeting. He had been wanting me to meet his team for quite some time and after much debate I decided to go with him.
I had kind of decided that I am not really a city girl. Give me a nice creek, a lake, a mountian and that would be much more entertaining. Imagine my suprise when I thourghly enjoyed THE CITY. New York City was so much fun. First you can get anywhere you need to go fo $2.00 on the subway. Second food, any kind, any ethnicity, and it's generally good (If a little expensive). Third broadway, too much fun. We went and saw The Producers, it was excellent. Fourth and perhaps my favorite central park and all those lovely acres and acres of greenness. Fifth, all the wonderful huge, would take weeks and weeks to really enjoy museums. I am sad to say I did not make it the Natural History Museum, but I did go to the Met and it was really enjoyable. Sixth all the other stores and sites. I mean it really is a lot to see.
Now sisters, don't freak, I didn't bring a camera.... wait wait there is a perfectly good rational to all of this. Mainly the one we have is too big and bulky and the one I brought had no batteries and well I was too busy doing to take pictures. Blasphemy I know, but true nonetheless.
I saw so many things and liked them so well that I honestly don't know exactly what all to share. On a non trippy note, it was really good to meet Rene's team and hear their hearts for college students and also their struggles and pray with them.
Back to the trip. There was this really great coffee shop near where Rene's team was meeting. It was called Manon, they had great coffee and even better hot chocolate, and with every purchase you got a free chocolate and man were they good. I went everyday the team met.
We went to this really funny restuarant on Broadway day that in English meant without underwear. On the table there was this huge basket of fresh vegetables, I mean raw carrots and onions and celery and tomatoes and a huge wire thing holding sausages. We were not sure if they were decoration or what, turns out they were the appetizer. Crazy huh???
My friend Carrie (who came from Boston) to meet us in New York and I spent a large part of two days wandering Central Park, it was great.
Of course I was sick most of the trip and it was cold but I am really glad that I got to go.
Well that's all for now.
