Well I am still a bit stressed after a weekend away from school but I do have exciting non school related news to share.
Friday we picked up our new car, a saburu forester. It's a CUV and no not a gas guzzler. I really like it a lot and can't wait to show it off at Thanksgiving.
In the meantime we have managed to aquire another cat. His name is Storm or Jaime(Highma for high matinance). He started out as the ugliest little cat you ever did see, but has come along way with food and after being shaved to the skin to get rid of mats and then evened up by Rene he doesn't look to bad. YOu can see in the picture where his hair is shorter than it should be, poor thing also managed to lose a tail. And I claim we have this cat all because of Rene. He says it's me. Either way he's a neutered, declawed male. Mufasa is a jealous fool about it. Hopefully he'll adjust since Storm lives in the garage.
Last but not least I finally am posting a picture of the newly refurbished cabinets. It's not really a very good picture, lighting was wierd. But you can see the difference between the old up at the top and the new at the bottem. We continue to work, work, work on getting the house remodeled.
Enjoy

Well today was the first game of the volleyball season. Wish I could say we were ready or even had teams picked out. But hey that's not the case. Work has been one nonstop rollarcoaster since I don't know the second day of school. Lots of disorganization and generally being behind.
Having two brand new coaches and one new head coach has made coaching with two grades seem harder than coaching with three. They are all very nice, but they just don't have the experience of the coaches I have worked with in the past and so that anchor is just kind of floating right now.
We cut the 7th grade girls to 32 for the first game and still have to cut at least 6 of those for the final teams. It's a little insane. Poor Rene had to suffer through the game with the B teams in the gym tonight. I think a total of 10 serves were over the whole night and there didn't seem to be any airconditioning. It was painful and pretty useless as far as helping us make decisions about who should be on the team. I am happy to report that things in the A gym went better, we technically "won" the scrimmage and I have a better idea of who should be on the team.
Other than that I feel crazy behind in science. The pile of papers that need to be graded just keeps growing. And I spend all my free time making copies, doing paperwork for CA, and trying to have a lesson for the next day. I am going to have to spend some time after work for the next couple of days catching up.
So in summary I'm alive and crazy and tired.
But on the upside tommorow is Friday!

Well I have survived the first day of classes at the newly christened Hutchinson Middle School. It was a pretty decent day all things considered and I feel pretty confident about this year. Having done all this twice before I just don't feel the same sense of things not yet done looming above my head. Although there is plenty that I haven't yet done. I feel pretty mellow about the whole thing really. Tommorow might be a different story but today I'm calm and relaxed. My feet hurt and I am tired. My endurance is definitly not built up yet. By 7th period I was dragging quite a bit. This year I am teaching 4 sections of science as oppossed to the three I have done the other two years. But I think I'll be able to handle it.
While I was posting I thought I would post some pictures from the North Carolina trip, specifically the whole reason we went Sarah's wedding.
Here is a picture of Sarah being sarah
And here is Tila, Dree, and me being squishy face
And I'm guessing you probably want to see the groom
Well that's all for now. I'll try to update more frequently.

Well today was the first day of teacher in-service. Which was full of the usual first day stuff, which is basically lots and lots of info you basically already know like dress code and stuff like that. Wish it had been more useful, but I know it is a necesary evil. I am having a hard time getting motivated to really start working. There are probably a half a dozen things that I could be doing right now. But after a summer of slow pace I don't really want to jump into the fast pace stream required for school. I will get there it will just take some time.
I have moved classrooms once again and am sharing for yet another year. I am also teaching both PreAP(honors) and regular 8th grade science while of course coaching. I am not that worried about it. Life does after all go on and I have done this two other times.
Monday is the first day with kids so that means since I am going out of town for my nephew's third birthday extravaganza of ridiculousness, that I will have to step it up tommorow so I will be ready for the kids to show up.
Go me!
