The End of the World

For the past two days the weathermen and all asorted news people have been predicting a massive snow storm would be arriving in Lubbock today. We are talking end of the world stuff here. Long lines at the grocery store and to get gas, because apparently everything was going to shut down and cease to function. Who knows what we might have to eat? And the grocery store might cease to exist. Much fearmongering.
I went about day because weather as we all know if very unpredictable. Yesterday my 7th grade team finally won their first game. And strangly they won 44-10. So that was a big win and a little surreal and then my principal told us that school had been canceled for today. Now keep in mind that not a single drop of precipitation had fallen from the sky. I was mad. I mean that just means we will have to make up that day at some other time. And of course this morning when I woke up what was it doing? Raining. Yeah that's right not sleet, not snow, rain. All day it's been this sleety rain stuff. Which granted tommorow will be ugly. And about 5:00 the roads started to get a little yucky but before that nothing major. So school was canceled for nothing.
Of course they continue to predict ridiculous amounts of precipitation to come down tonight and tommorow but i'm not holding my breath.
Tommorow the boys and I are planning to do a blitz on house remodeling so hopefully that means I will get the cabinets finished. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Sigh

So it's been awhile

I know, I know after a lot of smack talk about how I was going to update all the time I haven't updated for a month. But I have sort of a viable excuse. My computer crashed out and was dead for almost three weeks so I couldn't update from home too much and then it was christmas break. Break from what I don't know, since i think all i did was work. And then school started and I have just started using my beautiful new computer. I know excuses, excuses.

In update news. Urbana 2006 was great, a lot of work but worth it. Helping my mom unpack was . . . fill in the blank, a lot of work but worth it. Coming back to school, was like getting hit by a school bus that I was driving. All the lack of rest caught up with me. But yeah I got a little bit of a break from the usual routine and so I'm starting to recover.

I have started putting my nose to the grindstone and getting all applications to various universities explored and turned in. Hopefully I will be done with the UNT application by the end of this week and on to the next one.

Life goes on.
