Today I will be moving to McKinney. After being kept in a state of uncertainity for months I am finally on the verge of the move. In a couple of hours I will head east with a carload of stuff to my parent's house. Estimates on how long I will be there are ummmm really not very accurate. As of right now I don't know how long we will be living with my parents. Since so much of my future is unknown we don't want to jump into a house or an apartment that we would just leave in six months.
For all of you out there wondering what I am doing with my life. The answer is I'm trying to figure that out. I am almost a 100% sure I want to get my counseling degree, it's just a matter of where, how, and when. I am going to be working really hard to figure that out by November. In the meantime I will be working part time at C.J.'s parent day out program. It will let me bring in some income while being flexible to do other things. As for Rene his job is a lot of telecommuting and travel so he can do that from anywhere. It will actually be somewhat better for him to be in McKinney just because of the ease of acess to other Texas cities and a major airport or two.
So adios to Lubbock. It's been great.

Well somehow I have once again done something detrimintal to my computer. Yes the blue screen of death greats me at every attempt. I have managed to get my files backed up this time. But geez. So I will not be putting pictures on the sight for awhile. Which is a bit of a shame, since yesterday I took a trip to Midland and got to spend some time with old college friends, the Tyners, formally Jenni Howard and Jeff Tyner.
I took pictures of them and thier baby specifically for Emily, but now she and all of you will just have to wait.
As for the moving front. I am sitll in a bit of limbo. Mainly because of this job that just won't either say no or yes. If I get the job I should be moving by Monday if I don't it will probably be another two weeks. As to when I will know this information, your guess good as mine.
More on all that life changing stuff later.
Here's hoping no more computers blow up by my mere touch.

Well for the last 8 days Rene has been in Snyder and I was with him for all but two of those days. More about that later. In the time we were in Snyder we were visiting the family, spending a good long time with them before we left for McKinney for good. Rene has been wanting to do some remodeling in his mom's house for quite some time. Originally he had wanted to repair walls and texture all the walls in his mom's living room. I talked him down and instead we just did one wall with a window that needed to be replaced. Of course as with all home remodels we ran into our fair share of problems. Termites being one, trying to replace sheetrock and put in a window in a nonlevel completly crooked house being the main one. We learned a lot but it took everyone of those days, working a little at a time to get that wall finished.
It was a lot of hardwork, I think if we did it again it would probably take at least half the time if not less just because of everything we learned but it's still pretty hard work. Here are the pictures of the before and after.

I left Rene for two days to struggle on his own and went down to interview for a job at CJ's preschool. I am not sure it looks promising. It would be a good job to have in that it would give me lots of flexibility and bring in some income. But the woman in charge has been slow to get back to me. What happens, happens.
Rene and I should be moving to McKinney sometime at the end of August. And I will be working hard to make a decision about grad school by October. I'll try to keep this site updated.

So the first thing that we did with my new table saw, is create a tabletop for the existing bar. The bar is in an awkward location right in the middle of what should be a dining space. You can't really fit anything except a little round table on either side. So we decided to build a tabletop right on top of the bar.
It was fun. The table saw cut like butter and was really easy to use. The staining part that came after was a little annoying and time consuming but what can I say, I think it looks pretty great.
Now all that's left to do is the baseboards and we are finally done with the kitchen. Yeah this means I get to learn how to use my saws miter function.
